Anne of Cleves (1515-1557), fourth wife of King Henry VIII, painting by Hans Holbein the Younger, 1539. Holbein was sent to paint her at Düren in the summer of 1539 so that Henry could evaluate her as a possible wife. Henry liked the portrait, but was soon disappointed with the person, later divorcing her after a brief unconsummated marriage. She died during the reign of Queen Mary.

From the All Souls web site the following was extracted: "The large stained glass window in the west wall is known as the Royal Window. Dating from the mid-15th-century but much restored, it was originally located in the Old Library of All Souls. The kings depicted in the window originally included Constantine, Arthur, Ethelbert, Oswald, Alfred, Edmund, Athelstan, Edgar, Edward the Martyr, Edward the Confessor, and Henrys IV-VI." Bayeux Tapestry, depicting Roger de Beaumont with beard, William the Conqueror seated to his left, and Bishop Odo, half-brother of William, to the left of William, blessing the food at the feast table. The Bayeux Tapestry was created in the 11th century to commemorate the invasion of England by William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy, and his victory at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
