Death*Harold II died on 14 October 1066, in Senlac, Sussex, England; he was killed at the Battle of Senlac, now known as the Battle of Hastings. Based upon a misinterpretation of the Bayeux Tapestry it was generally thought that Harold had been killed by an arrow. He was more likely killed by a sword at the hands of a mounted Norman knight.2 
Burial*He was buried in Waltham Abbey, Essex, England.3
