Death*Henry Allen McLean died in September 1927; Obituary: "Henry Allen McLean, 4 [sic] year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Gordon McLean, drowned in the Ontonagon River close to the county bridge.

In company with several youngsters, the little fellow ventured to the bridge and on playing at the approach to the bridge fell in the water.

The little ones instead of calling for help ran to call the mother who notified the men working in the vicinity.

After about 15 minutes in the water, the body was brought to the surface and efforts to revive were in vain.

The funeral held from the home with burial in the Riverside cemetery." [Ironwood Daily Globe, published 19 September 1927]1
