The Last Will and Testament of Eva D. Mehner Barnett dated Dec 18, 1951named Ted to be the beneficiary of her entire estate. Interestingly, if Ted would have died first, the estate would have been divided 9 ways:Karl T. Mehner, Warren P. Mehner, Albert Hartson Mehner, Robert D.Mehner, The American Bible Society and (4 unknown people--JJR): Beulah Fisk, Will Barnett, Paul Barnett, and Naomi Ruth Cain, We wonder if all or some of these four were Ted's siblings or perhaps even children! His wife Eva died in 1964 He was also a hotel night watchman and a Baptist! He was befriended by another woman realtor named Ann Hopkins who cared for him in his later years. (see quotations in notes of Eva Mae Damon Mehner Barnett) He finally lived at the Gilmer? Nursing Home in St Augustine, FL where he died June 20, 1979.
