Note* | The following obituary newspaper clipping (name of newspaper and date notrecorded) was contributed by Louella Ryan of Island Falls, Maine: Island Falls, Jan. 19 (1934) - Funeral services for Miss AnnieEstabrooks, 67, were held in the Baptist church, Rev. Arthur Baker,assisted by Rev. Stanley Sargent, pastor of the Congregational church,officiated. Miss Estabrook's death occurred Friday evening (Jan. 12) atthe home of James Sleeper in Sherman, after an illness of one week. MissEstabrooks was born in Ashland, New Brunswick, the daughter of Nehemiahand Eliza Estabrooks. When quite young her parents came to New Limerick,where she lived until coming to Island Falls to make her home, about 25years ago. She was a member of the Baptist church and also the Bibleclass, a devout, conscientious Christian woman, who gave her entire lifeto caring for others. She leaves two brothers, Nevers and CharlesEstabrooks of Limerick, and a number of nephews and nieces. Thosepresent from out of town to attend the service were: Nevers Estabrooks,Mr. and Mrs. Charles Estabrooks, Mr. and Mrs. Norris Estabrooks, Mrs.Burton, Leo Spain, Orin Hayward of Houlton, Mr. and Mrs. RolandEstabrooks, Wilbur Estabrooks, Oakfield; Mr. and Mrs. Wyman Estabrooks,Dyer Brook; Colby Estabrooks, Sherman Station; Mrs. Daniel Stewart, Mr.and Mrs. Adams, Mr. Hatfield of Linneus; Charlie Drew, Dyer Brook. Fournephews, Harry and Guy McKenzie, Norris and Leland Estabrooks, were thebearers. Interment was at New Limerick cemetery. |
