1795 Walker Bible, marriage entry for David Walker Sr. & Ann Bramble/Brambel
(widowed) DeathAnn Bramble was widowed by the death of David Walker on 15 April 1844 in (probably) New Annan, Prince County, Prince Edward Island.1

(step-mother) Census HeadHouseholdAnn Bramble was enumerated on the census of 1861 in the household of Robert Walker, as a step-mother, in Lot 19, New Annan, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, 46.41978,-63.70972; Robert was listed as a farmer and a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Lower Provinces. The proprietor was Andrew T. Todd, with 30 years expired on a lease of 999 years. Land was leased at the rate of £1 per acre per year. The landowner (probably an Englishman) was Andrew T. Todd. Of the 100 acres, 60 were arable and of 2nd quality. In the year up to the 1861 census they grew 50 bushels of wheat, 50 bushels of barley, 400 bushels of oats, 50 bushels of buckwheat, 600 bushels of potatoes, 50 bushels of turnips and 6 tons of hay. They weaved 20 yards of fulled cloth, 40 yards of non-fulled cloth and made 100 lbs. of butter. They owned 3 horses, 6 cattle, 14 sheep and 10 hogs.

In the household were two people born in Scotland (Robert and Betsy), 1 in the British provinces (Ann Bramble), and 6 born on P.E.I. By age, there was 1 male under 5 (George Price), 2 females and 1 male between 5 and 16 (Jessie, Elizabeth, Isabella and Thomas - should be 3 females), 1 female between 16 & 20 (Mary), 1 male between 21 & 45 (David), 1 female and 1 male between 45 & 60 (Betsy and Robert), and 1 female over 60 (Ann Bramble). Ann B. was already married in 1855. William James had died in 1856. Margaret H. was already married in 1859.5
Census*Ann Bramble appeared on the census of 1861 in Lot 19, New Annan, Prince County, Prince Edward Island. Ann Bramble would have been the 1 female over 60 years of age (she was actually 85 years old) in the household of her step-son Robert.5
Death*She died on 10 September 1864, at age 87, in New Annan, Prince County, Prince Edward Island; "At New Annan on the 10th inst., after a painfull illness, which she bore with Christian patience and resignation to the Divine Will, Ann Bramble, relict of the late David Walker, at the advanced age of 88 years."6,7,1 [The (Charlottetown) Examiner, 26 Sept, 1864, page 3); The Islander Sep 23, 1864; Vindicator Sep 28, 1864; Protestant and Evangelical Witness Sep 17, 1864.]

Name Variation Kate Brand is also known as Kate Lamond.2
Birth*She was born circa 1890 in Kettins, Forfarshire, Scotland.1
She was the daughter of Thomas Galloway and Jane Donaldson.1
(Witness) Census HeadHouseholdKate Brand was enumerated on the census of 1891 in the household of Jane Donaldson in 54 George St., Coupar Angus, Angus, Scotland. The town of Coupar Angus was transferred from the county of Angus to Perthshire sometime after the 1891 census. Included in Jane's household were her children George (age 21), Jane (age 18), Thomas (age 14), John (age 11), Maggie (age 9) and Robert (age 6). There was also Kate Lamond (age 1), listed as a boarder, born 1890 in Kettins, Forfarthshire. Kate's relationship is unknown at this writing, however she is likely the same girl called Kate Brand, age 11 in the 1901 census, listed as 'adopted daughter'. Jane was listed as "Wife", yet her husband Thomas did not appear in this or the 1901 census returns.2
(Witness) Census HeadHouseholdKate Brand was enumerated on the census of 1901 in the household of Jane Donaldson in George St., Anvie House, Coupar Angus, Perthshire, Scotland. Included in Jane's household were her children Margaret (age 19), Robert (age 16), Jane (age 28), her husband William Watson (age 31), their children John (age 6) and Thomas (age 4). Also in the household were Kate Brand (age 11), adopted daughter of Jane and Sarah Farquharson (age 74), niece of Jane. In the 1891 census there was a Kate Lamond, age 1 year, born in Kettins, Forfarshire, listed as a boarder. Kate Brand in the 1901 census, age 11, born in Kettins, Forfarshire, listed as an adopted daughter. Although the surnames for Kate are different, it is my opinion that they are one and the same girl. Until Scotland releases the actual page images to be viewed on-line to prove this thought, it is possible that there was an error in the transcription. Occupations listed were as follows: Jane's sons John and Robert were masons, and her son-in-law William Watson, was a plumber. There were three boarders in the household, namely Joshua Dow (age 26, butcher), William McCulloch (age 25, coachman) and William Barnett (age 37, butcher). As in the 1891 census, Jane was listed as a "Wife", not widow, although her husband Thomas was not listed st this census either.1
