There has been lots of timber cutand hauled out by individuals, Homestake sawmill sawmill of Spearfish,Nieman's and Johnsons sawmills of Hulett. The country sure differentthan it did when Thomas and Gwennie moved onto their homestead. Milton has the home place and still (1981) lives on it with his wife,Helen. As theyounger children grew older, Grandma Maddison, as everyone called her, would go out and take care of sick neighbors. When Thomas and Gwennie were in their older years, Jim stayed with themwhile Milton worked out at ranches, sawmills or any odd jobs that hecould get to support them. Thomas was seventy-five when he died in Juneof 1931 and Gwennie died at eighty-one on the 11th of January, 1941,Both are buried in Pineslope Cemetery at Belle Fourche, Butte County,South Dakota.
