Biographical Note* FL- Personal notes from James R. Wood and or William Oulton: The family name is Irving (with a "G"). However, the doctors who registered the births of Henry, Fredrick and Ethel spelled the names without a "G". Note: I have added the "G". The headstones of Gordon and William Irving (father of Gordon) at Lakeview Cemetery have the name with a "G". Marriage records for John, Mary Dell and William show name Irvin without the "G".

Ethel's (Gordon's daughter) birth registration with the Nova Scotia government shows her middle name as Isabel. She has always thought that her middle name was spelled Isabelle.1
