The German researcher was Michael Stubbe, 23758 Gut Gaarz, 0172-5289020. He tells us: Carl Friedrich Nebel was born August 29, 1811 in Gornsdorf (must be in Saxony near Burkhardtsdorf). He was baptized in the Evangelical Church (Lutheran) at Gornsdorf on August 31, 1811. He married Christine Friederike Mehner Jan 24, 1841 in Burkhardtsdorf. He was a 'master stockingmaker' by trade. (Manufactured stockings were the main business of Burkhardtsdorf at that time).
