She was the daughter of John Walker and Jane Davidson Weir.1 | |
(Witness) Emigration | Margret Walker emigrated with John Walker and Jane Davidson Weir in July 1825 in Dumfriesshire, Scotland![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Death* | Margret Walker died on 30 July 1825, at age 5 years, 3 months and 15 days. Her death entry in the John Walker Family Bible states that she was "Aged five years and three months". The date on her marker is "July 30th 1826", which does not match this age. Oral history says that she died during the voyage from Scotland to Prince Edward Island, but there are no records to confirm this.4 |
Alt-Death | An alternate death date is on 30 July 1826.The year 1826 is on her tombstone. However, this is likely incorrect as her namesake, Margaret, was born 4 November 1825.5 |
Burial* | She was buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery, North Bedeque, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, 46.36161,-63.72579![]() Inscription: In memory of / Margret Walker / Died / July 30th, 1826 / Aged 5 years / Daughter of / John and Jane Walker. |

Eliza was also a school teacher and taught at Freeland, from 1892-1895 where she met Johnny. He was a valued member of court Warburton, I.O.F. and will be greatly missed by the brothers of that society.13,10 |
