The late Mrs. Matthew had been born in Summerside in the home on Water Street East, in which she was living at the time of her death. Apart from fifteen years in O'leary, all her life had been spent here. She had been in failing health for the past two years but her condition became more serious about two months ago, and three weeks ago she entered the hospital. She was the former Lucy Mae Glover, a daughter of the late Thomas Cairns Glover and his wife, Hannah Watters. She is survived by her husband and a daughter, Dolly, and a son, Thomas, both at home. Four children predeceased her, also surviving are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. While living in O'leary Mrs. Matthew was active in many community movements and played the organ for both the Presbyterian and United Church services. After returning to Summerside she was an active member of the Ladies' Aid of the Presbyterian Church and of Read's Corner Women's Institute. In more recent years her health had forced her to give up these activities. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew were married fifty-two years ago on August 14th last.
