(Witness) Census HeadHouseholdElizabeth Cairns was enumerated on the census of 1861 in the household of Robert Walker in Lot 19, New Annan, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, 46.41978,-63.70972; Robert was listed as a farmer and a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Lower Provinces. The proprietor was Andrew T. Todd, with 30 years expired on a lease of 999 years. Land was leased at the rate of 1 pound per acre per year. The landowner (probably an Englishman) was Andrew T. Todd. Of the 100 acres, 60 were arable and of 2nd quality. In the year up to the 1861 census they grew 50 bushels of wheat, 50 bushels of barley, 400 bushels of oats, 50 bushels of buckwheat, 600 bushels of potatoes, 50 bushels of turnips and 6 tons of hay. They weaved 20 yards of fulled cloth, 40 yards of non-fulled cloth and made 100 lbs. of butter. They owned 3 horses, 6 cattle, 14 sheep and 10 hogs.
