Biographical Note* Lulu was only two years old when her father died. She was taken in by her uncle Joseph and Lilla (Henderson) Rix. Two years after that Lilla was stung by bees and succumbed to the venom. Lilla was then taken in by Fred & Helen (MacNeill) Hardy, who had already been taking care of raising Lilla's younger brother George.1
