Name Variation Mary Adelaide Clark is also known as Adelaide Clark.
Name-ComShe is commonly known as Addie.5,6,7
Birth*She was born on 24 March 1861 in Cape Traverse, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada, 46.242778,-63.637735.8,9
She was the daughter of Ewen Edmund Clark and Margery Robins.3,4
(Witness) Census HeadHouseholdMary Adelaide Clark was enumerated on the census of 4 April 1881 in the household of Ewen Edmund Clark in Lot 26, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada; Ewen was a widower in the 1881 census. Included in the household were his sons Andrew & Henry, and daughters Adelaide (Adalaide), Lucinda, Millicent and Euphemia. The family religion was Wesleyan Methodist. Ewen's occupation was entered as farmer.10
Marriage LicenseMary Adelaide Clark obtained a marriage license on 25 August 1882 in Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada; at the time the license was issued George was listed as living in New Annnan, and Addie in Bedeque. The license was directed to Rev. George Harrison. The bondsman was John McKay.11
Marriage*She married George Price Walker, son of Robert Walker and Elizabeth Cairns, on 30 August 1882; they were married by license. The marriage record shows George P. Walker married Addie Clarke, 30 August 1882, by George Harrison, Methodist Minister. Witnesses were Nathan McFarlane and Maggie Schurman. Marriage Register No. 13, 1870-1887, Pg. 213. George's marriage was listed in The Examiner, Sept 16 1882. George was the youngest son of Robert and Elizabeth.

Marriage Announcement: "Married: On the 30th ult. by Rev. George Harrison, Miss Addie, eldest daughter of Ewen Clark, of Bedeque, to George P. Walker, youngest son of Robert Walker, Esq., of New Annan". (The Examiner, 16 September, 1882). The marriage was recorded 4 Dec. 1882.12,13,5,14,15
Immigration*Mary Adelaide Clark immigrated to Little Shemogue, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada, 46.116510,-64.023376, in 1899. When Addie returned to Canada she lived with her son Arthur in the home of Thomas and Millicent (sister of Addie) Blacklock in Little Shemogue. Her future second husband, Ed Robinson, lived across the road and west of the Blacklock homestead. The 1901 census entry for Adelaide and Arthur show Arthur as born in Colorado, and year of immigration as 1899.16

Census*Mary Adelaide Clark appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 in Little Shemogue, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada; Adelaide and Arthur were lodgers in the home of Isabella Smith. Having discovered where Addie had settled after her divorce in Colorado, I wondered why she decided on a small community in southeastern New Brunswick. She was born and raised in Prince Edward Island, and there would have been friends and family there. Examining a filmed copy of the original census page I discovered that her sister Millicent lived in the adjacent house with her husband and family.18
Marriage*She married second James Edward Robinson, son of Marchand Robinson and Eunice Taylor, on 27 December 1905 in the residence of John Robinson, Little Shemogue, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada, 46.12745,-64.04600, they were married by license. Edward was 44 years old, a widower, farmer, Baptist, living in Little Shemogue. Adelaide was 40 years old, a widow, Presbyterian, living in Little Shemogue. Addie and Ed Robinson lived on the Robinson farm (now 220 Blacklock Road) across the road and west of the Blacklock homestead.4,19
