Mar. 28, Thurs. - Ed Hooper died at 10:00 last night". A description of the accident follows.

Edward Hooper Killed in Sawmill at Middleton
A terribly sad accident occurred at Middleton, Wednesday afternoon by which Edward Hooper, a widely known and highly respected resident of that locality, lost his life.
The deceased was working in the steam sawmill owned by his brother Allison. At the time of the accident he was operating a circular saw and was alone, his brother being in the engine room. A Mr. Kehoe who happened to be passing at the time noticed that something unusual had occurred in the mill and went to investigate. He found Mr. Hooper lying unconscious by a pile of lumber, a deep gash in his head which subsequent examination showed had been caused by a slab thrown off by the circular saw. The brother was hastily summoned, a doctor called in and everything possible done for the injured man, but he never regained consciousness and passed away about ten o'clock.
The deceased was about 45 years of age and was the son of the late Lemuel Hooper. He leaves to mourn his wife and two children, Leslie and Helen, both at home, three brothers Allison, above mentioned, Herbert in Detroit, Mich., and Henry in California. The funeral takes place this Friday afternoon at 2:30.
The stricken family have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community in their sudden and sad bereavement.6
Burial*He was buried in the United Church Cemetery, Lower Bedeque, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada, 46.34704,-63.73438.
