Hanson, Tyne Valley. Left an orphan at the tender age of one year and six months, and thus without the care and protection of a loving mother, she grew up so much the companion of her father, now bowed with grief almost too great to bear, that especially to the father now passing through the deep water of so great a trial and sorrow goes out the most heartfelt sympathy of friends and neighbors.
The funeral took place on Tuesday 23rd, and although the day was very cold and stormy, was well attended. The remains were laid to rest beside her mother in Port Hill cemetery. The service which was very impressive, were conducted by Rev. Mr. Bamford, rector of Port Hill. The pallbearers were Ernest Gillis, Wilfrid McDougald, Ernest Grigg and Elison Williams.
