Obituary: Mr. Jarvis Dalzell, New Annan, has received a telegram conveying the sad news of the death of his youngest brother, Gerald, at his home in Camden, Maine on Friday, Dec. 8th. Although he had been in failing health for some time, the news of his passing came as a great shock to his relatives and friends, and was very unexpected.

He leaves to mourn his wife, who was formerly Miss Dorothy Walsh, daughter of Rev. Chas. and Mrs. Walsh of Camden, also two children, Jarvis and Susan, besides a number of brothers and sisters. The funeral, which took place on Monday, Dec. 11 from his residence, was under the auspices of the Masonic Order of which the deceased was a member."3

Obituary: "Another of the pioneers of our province has been called to his rest, Mr. James Dalziel, of New Annan, who passed away on the 14th inst., after a brief illness of congestion of the lungs, in the 82nd year of his age. Deceased emigrated from Scotland about 60 years ago, making the voyage in the ship Ellen Douglas and landing in Richibucto, N.B. Shortly afterwards he came to the Island in a schooner, landing at Charlottetown where he obtained employment as miller with the late Hon. George Coles. He had learned the milling business in Scotland and soon won an enviable reputation in his calling. He afterwards had charge of the Thompson mills, Suffolk, and later of the Jamieson (now Wright's) mills, New Annan, where he married Miss Jamieson and settled on the farm on which he lived until his death. Two sons, William and George, survive him, a daughter Mary and son Gordon having died several years ago. He was an upright and esteemed citizen and his death will be mourned by a large number of friends."3,6
