; Obituary: "An old and highly respected resident of Kelvin passed away on Friday night in the person of Mr. Archibald R. McMurdo, aged eighty years. He had enjoyed very good health until about a week ago when he became seriously ill and from that time failed rapidly until the end. He is survived by two sons, Percy and Erskine, of Kelvin, and two daughters, Mrs. (Dr.) Callbeck of Crapaud (Muriel), and Mrs. Wm. Profitt, (Hazel), of Kensington. There are also two brothers, David of Summerside, and Albert of California, and one sister, Mrs. William Walker of Wilmot. His wife predeceased him a few years ago. The late William McMurdo of Summerside was a brother. Deceased was a valued member of the United Church and before the union was a Presbyterian, having been an elder for years. The funeral takes place today at 1:30 p.m."⁵

; Obituary: "Another of Prince County's fine old gentleman has gone to his reward in the person of Mr. Thos. McMurdo, whose death occurred at his home in Bedeque on Saturday evening, March 14th, after an illness of some months. The deceased was a prominent farmer of Bedeque, and in his home he was kind, energetic and industrious. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church for many years, and, while his health permitted, he faithfully attended the services.

The deceased leaves to mourn, besides a large number of relatives and friends, a sorrowing widow (formerly Miss Janet Cairns), two sons, Scott and Earle, and two daughters, Miss Edna of Bedeque, and Mrs James Marchbank of New Annan; also five brothers and two sisters, James, of North Bedeque; Archibald, Kevin, William, and David, Summerside; Albert, California; Mrs Catherine Walker, Kensington and Mrs Margaret Sinclair, Summerside. The funeral service was conducted on Monday at 2 p.m., conducted by the pastor of the deceased, Rev. M. McQuarrie, when a large number gathered to pay their last respects to a kind neighbour and a loyal friend. The pallbearers were: Alex. Cairns, Stuart Cairns, John McCaul, A. McCaul, A. Stavert and James Stavert."⁸
