Faith Williams1

Note*The wedding was performed by Rev. John Gurkey at the home of JehielWilliams in Lebannon, CT.
Note*In the Revolutionary War Pension Application for Dyer Sprague I findinformation put down about Faith Sprague(Williams) by one of her sons IraSprague. It is as follows. (e-mail, Norm Smith) Faith Williams was married by Rev. John Gurley in Lebanon, CT to DyerSprague. The wedding took place at her brother's (Jehiel Williams)house. Dyer Sprague was employed there also. After they were marriedthey moved to Washington, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. They hadseveral children. Apparently they moved to Dalton, MA where Faith diedafter Dyer. She died November 2, 1842 at the age of 78. She wasserviced and buried by the Dalton Congregational Church. From this I gather that she was born @@1764. She passed the surname ofWilliams down to her oldest or one of the oldest children (Lydia WilliamsSprague). From another Family Tree File I found her born 1754 and married1782 hence my variations. According to the Pension App. there was a lotof difficulty in finding the marriage record. I'm not sure if they everdid find it.
Birth*Faith Williams was born circa 1764 in Lebanon, New London County, Connecticut
Marriage*She married Dyre Sprague, son of Phineas Sprague and Sarah Dyer, circa 1782 in Lebanon, New London County, Connecticut
Death*Faith Williams died on 2 November 1842, in Dalton, Massachusetts

She was the daughter of Stenning Keith Williams and Leila Reby Milligan.1
Death*Frances Williams died on 18 March 1940, in West Devon, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada; Obituary: "A very sudden and unexpected death occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. MacLean MacNevin, West Devon, on March 18th when their niece, Miss Frances Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stenning Williams, Tyne Valley, passed away. Frances came to their home on Saturday evening to spend the weekend with them and retired, apparently in her usual health. The following morning she complained of not feeling well and remained in bed. Later in the day her aunt noticed that her condition was not improving and sent for her parents, who arrived about midnight to find her in an unconscious condition. Everything that was done to restore her proved of no avail; and in the early morning hours she passed hence at the early age of 19 years. Besides her grief stricken parents she leaves to mourn their loss two sisters and five brothers all at home."1,2
