Biographical Note* John first started farming on the Goodwin Rd. (Johnson Point Rd.) on the present 'Omar Anderson' place. Old family records shows his birth as 1817, however Bruce Blacklock says that he had to obtain a birth certificate from Scotland later in his life, and it showed him to be 3 years older than he had thought himself to be. His gravestone shows him born 1814.2
