Marriage*Joseph Samuel Rix married first Lillie Ann Henderson, daughter of Thomas Raymond Henderson and Mary Elizabeth Brander, on 23 November 1898 they adopted Joseph's niece, Lilla Rix when at the age of two years her mother died. Two years after that Lilla was stung by bees and succumbed to the venom. Lilla was then taken in by Fred & Helen (MacNeill) Hardy, who had been already taking care of raising Lilla's younger brother George.2 
Marriage*Joseph Samuel Rix married second Lydia Adelaide Rix, daughter of William Rix and Alice Wagner, on 12 July 1921 in Miminegash, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada.3
