Note*Robert 'Bob' McDonell homesteaded on what is now (1970) Edith Moore'sfarm. He and John Lamb bought the first binder in the district. It tiedonly about half the sheaves, but was still much better than cutting wheatwith a mower and binding it by hand. Later, a fire destroyed Bob's cropsand also the binder. Bob went to the Klondike with his brother-in-law,Dave Ennis and didn't return to the prairie. This account is stated on page 13 in the book, Grit and Growth, the Storyof Grenfell. by Annie I. Yule. 1907 edition.
