Alan 'Scott' Woodside
M, #24272, b. 24 May 1941, d. 27 August 2001
Birth* | Alan 'Scott' Woodside was born on 24 May 1941 in Margate, Prince Edward Island, Canada . |
| He was the son of Harold Aretus Woodside and Mary Elizabeth Profitt. |
Death* | Alan 'Scott' Woodside died on 27 August 2001, at age 60; TRIBUTE OF REMEMBRANCE ALAN SCOTT WOODSIDE Family and friends were shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Alan Scott Woodside of Margate on October 27, 2001 in his 60th year. Scott was born on May 24th, 1941 in Margate. He was the youngest son of Mary Profitt and Harold Woodside. Scott is survived by his wife Valerie, children Kent (Marianna), Ann (Shawn), Mark (Karen) and Blake (Rebecca). He is also survived by his 2 sisters Ruth Caseley (Nelson), Bonnie Schurman (Charlie)and brother Donald (Ina) also sister-in-law Margaret Woodside; brothers-in-law Don Harris and George Pickering, a number of nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Marion Woodside and brother-in-law Barry Woodside. He was predeceased by his sistersPhyllis Hawkins (Lyle), Rena Pickering, Barbara Harris and brothers Douglas and Ross. After completing his education, Scott went to work in the automotive industry. He and his son Mark then took over W. Ross Woodside Behlen business which later became MS Woodsides' Ltd. Scott was a member of the Margate United Church and at the time of his death he was chairman of the Board of Trustees and president of the Fellowship Group. His kindness and humour, but most of all his love and support of his family will always be remembered. He was very fond of his granddaughters whom he loved and cherished. Scott had a great love for NASCAR racing and enjoyed attending the Daytona 500. His largely attended funeral was held at the Davison Funeral Home in Kensington with Reverend Elaine Palmer-Harding and organist Edith MacLeod. Today our thoughts go back, To just one year ago. While our smiles were turned to tears, By a sad and sudden blow. Just when your life was brightest, Just when your years were best. You were called from this world, To a home of eternal rest. A smile for all, a heart of gold, One of the best this World will hold. Never selfish, always kind. These are the beautiful memories you left behind. CARD OF THANKS We want to extend our thanks to everyone for your strength and comfort over the past year. May God bless each and every one of you. Valerie and Family.
