William 'Bill' Howard Thompson1
M, #61234, d. 5 April 1970
Note* | 'Hi Marlene and Don -- I was reading an article in our local paper todayabout how a group of Police from Salem,VA. come every year to Oak Hill,WV to honor a fellow officer from Scarbro,WV who died in the line of dutywhile working in Salem,VA. This caught my eye so I read on. Seems theofficers have done this for 30 years now. It talked of how the familyattended the services and how the two children of the officer were justlittle when their father was killed. The officer's name was WilliamHoward Thompson. I read on . His widow was Linda Thomson. Soundfamiliar? I read on. The officer's sister -in-laws attended theservices. Their names were Peggy Brown and Patsy Lively. I was amazedthat this piece of information was found in this way. Linda is LindaMartin Thompson ... the granddaughter of Willie Mae DeLung Peters .Anyway, it listed the two girls names. Linda Jo Martin Thompson andWilliam Howard Thompson had:(1) Kimberly Ann Thompson Rhinehardt and (2)Karen Annetta Thompson Critzer. William (Bill) was killed in the line ofduty on April 5, 1970. Just one more piece of the puzzle (at least Ididn't have the names of their daughters or know that Bill wasdeceased). The article said that Kimberly lives in NC and that Karenlives in Salem. You might have a relative near Marlene . Just thoughtthis was interesting. Joan.'
