Marriage*William McMurdo married Agnes Brehaut.1
Death*William McMurdo died on 6 August 1932, in home, Convent St., Summerside, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada; Obituary: "Summerside mourns the loss of another old and very highly regarded citizens in the death of Mr. William McMurdo, who passed away at his home on Convent Street, at noon Tuesday. Though in ill health for about a year he had been laid up for only ten days previous to his death, and only a short time ago was to be seen actively engaged in working around his garden. In the passing of Mr. McMurdo, one of nature's noblemen has gone to his reward. A man of strict integrity, friendly manner and all the attributes of a Christian gentleman, his memory will be always cherished by those who had the pleasure of his acquaintance and especially by those who are left to mourn.

Mr. McMurdo was born at Kelvin, formerly known as New Dumfries, near Kensington, 83 years ago, the son of Archibald McMurdo. In his early manhood he came to Summerside and worked in the employ of the late Mr. R. T. Holman for several years. In the year 1885 he started in business in the firm of Warren, Hicks and McMurdo Bros., who opened a general store on Water Street, in the premises still occupied by Mr. S. M. Hicks, who was a member of the firm. This business was continued until 1908. Some time after this Mr. McMurdo took up dental laboratory work, first in the office of Dr. A. W. Leard, and afterwards with his son, Dr. Archibald McMurdo, upon the latter opening a dental office here. The deceased was a zealous and esteemed member of the Summerside Presbyterian Church, being an elder for a number of years, a well as Superintendent of the Sunday School and will be missed in that church which has suffered the loss by death of quite a number of its most valuable members within the year.

He leaves to mourn, besides his widow, three sons, Dr. Archibald, Summerside, Charles, in Wetaskiwin, Alta., and Will in Lashburn, Sask., also three brothers, and two sisters, David, in Summerside, A. R. in Kelvin, Albert in California, Mrs. Wm. Walker, formerly of Kensington, and Mrs. (Hon.) Peter Sinclair, Springfield. A daughter, May, predeceased him some years ago. To those bereaved sincere sympathy is extended. The funeral takes place this afternoon at 2 o'clock, service being held in the Presbyterian Church and interment in the People's Cemetery."2
Burial*He was buried in the Peoples Cemetery, Summerside, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada, 46.40520,-63.77719.
