McMurdo, whose death occurred at his home in Bedeque on Saturday evening, March 14th, after an illness of some months. The deceased was a prominent farmer of Bedeque, and in his home he was kind, energetic and industrious. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church for many years, and, while his health permitted, he faithfully attended the services.
The deceased leaves to mourn, besides a large number of relatives and friends, a sorrowing widow (formerly Miss Janet Cairns), two sons, Scott and Earle, and two daughters, Miss Edna of Bedeque, and Mrs James Marchbank of New Annan; also five brothers and two sisters, James, of North Bedeque; Archibald, Kevin, William, and David, Summerside; Albert, California; Mrs Catherine Walker, Kensington and Mrs Margaret Sinclair, Summerside. The funeral service was conducted on Monday at 2 p.m., conducted by the pastor of the deceased, Rev. M. McQuarrie, when a large number gathered to pay their last respects to a kind neighbour and a loyal friend. The pallbearers were: Alex. Cairns, Stuart Cairns, John McCaul, A. McCaul, A. Stavert and James Stavert."8 |
