Her death is deeply lamented in the community, where she had many friends and not an enemy. A sorrowing husband and four children are left to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and devoted and indulgent mother. To them the Farmer joins with the entire community in extending its heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement."2,1

Note*The Huestis Family originally settled at Bear Island in 1785 or 1786. The original house was built in 1795 or before. The next house was built in 1895 by Judson Gunter and Anthony Manuel. The farm had 240 acres on the deed and180 after the Mactaquac dam was built in 1967. The farm was 40 rods wide. in 1785.
