Note*As for the spelling of Crook(s), my mother was a daughter of Roy (son of Winifred and George). She always told me that the spelling was Crookebut that her brother LeRoy dropped the e and added the s. Emmet's daughter Thelma in Hinton, W.V. says she only remembers it being Crook. Most of the information I have is mixed. I assume that the most used is Crook but it varies which makes things a lot harder. I have quite a lot of info on Winifred (Delung) Crook. She is my great grandmother. They did have 4 children Emmett, b. 3/22/1896, Rella, b. 7/20/1897, Roy (my grandfather) b. 7/3/1899 d. 8/3/1932, and Georgia (Dimple) born 3/23/1906. Emmett had three children, Benny, Emmett Jr. and Thelma. They are all alive and live in Hinton, W.V. Roy had 4 children, Leroy b.4/15/1918 and now lives in Sarasota, Fla. Virginia b. 5/14/1919 d12/21/1930, Winifred (my mother named after her grandmother) b.11/22/1921 d. 2/13/1984, and Elizabeth b. 1/20/1922, she lives in Aurora, Ill just a mile from me. Rella married Harry Smoot 7/21/1914. They had 4 children, Carrington b.8/1/1915, Georgia, b.5/28/1917, Mary b. 3/4/1919, and Margaret b.7/1/1920. I do not know any of the death dates or if any are still living. George W. Crook was born 10/13, 1871 and Winifred Delung Crook was born 5/22/1874, she died march 1, 1935 or 36. They were married December 4,1894. As far as I know they lived in Hinton W.V. all of their lives. I know she was one of 12 children and I have most of that info. I can find nothing on George's family. I got a lot of this info from the Crook family bible which Thelma sent to me. In the bible Crook is always spelled Crook. How do you fit into the Delung Family. Have you been in contact with Bee Hobbs. She has been a wonderful help. Her grandfather Peter Delung is the brother to my great grandmother Winifred. Would love to hear more from you. Hope some of this info helps. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Judy The above account is from Judy Ann Baish, E-mail: JUDYANN10@@prodigy.net.
