Obituary: "Another of Prince County's fine old gentleman has gone to his reward in the person of Mr. Thos. McMurdo, whose death occurred at his home in Bedeque on Saturday evening, March 14th, after an illness of some months. The deceased was a prominent farmer of Bedeque, and in his home he was kind, energetic and industrious. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church for many years, and, while his health permitted, he faithfully attended the services.
The deceased leaves to mourn, besides a large number of relatives and friends, a sorrowing widow (formerly Miss Janet Cairns), two sons, Scott and Earle, and two daughters, Miss Edna of Bedeque, and Mrs James Marchbank of New Annan; also five brothers and two sisters, James, of North Bedeque; Archibald, Kevin, William, and David, Summerside; Albert, California; Mrs Catherine Walker, Kensington and Mrs Margaret Sinclair, Summerside. The funeral service was conducted on Monday at 2 p.m., conducted by the pastor of the deceased, Rev. M. McQuarrie, when a large number gathered to pay their last respects to a kind neighbour and a loyal friend. The pallbearers were: Alex. Cairns, Stuart Cairns, John McCaul, A. McCaul, A. Stavert and James Stavert."8
