Obituary: "On Monday last Judge MacLeod, Summerside, received a telegram from Spokane, Washington, informing him of the death that morning of an uncle of his, Dr. J. B. MacDonald, formerly of Pinette, in this province. Dr. MacDonald was a graduate of one of the American medical colleges and went through the American civil war in the practice of his profession. Later he returned home and entered Acadia College, from which he graduated in arts, and was ordained as a Baptist minister, in which capacity he was stationed for some years at Bedeque, where he is still well remembered. Later on he went west, and for some years past has been located in Spokane, where he followed the medical profession. Dr. MacDonald, who was about seventy-two years of age, leaves a wife (formerly Miss Hooper, daughter of Mr. Artemas Hooper, late of Bedeque and now of Montague), one son and three daughters."1
