Obituary: "The death last Friday of Mr. Colin C. Craig of Middleton, aged 64, removes from the activities of life a prominent, progressive and highly respected farmer of that community. He was a life-long resident of Middleton, whose death is a distinct loss, and he will be sincerely mourned. There are left to cherish his memory his widow, formerly Miss Wright, three daughters, Miss Jean Craig, New York, who came home to nurse her father in his illness, and Florence and Margaret; three sons, Wilfred, Walter and Chesley; also a brother, Albert Craig residing in Vancouver. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon with services at the home and in the Bedeque United Church, many being present to pay their final tribute to his memory. Interment was made in Searletown Cemetery." [Summerside Journal. 5 October, 1936] Obituary: "There passed away on Friday afternoon at his home in Middleton, Colin C. Craig, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Craig, at the age of 64 years. Identified with the early life and traditions of Middleton, the Craig name has long been one to be revered. Mr Craig had been and ardent worker since youth in the Middleton United Church (formerly Methodist) Church and for many years was an official of the Quarterly Board of the Bedeque United Church.
He is survived by his widow, formerly Miss Louise Wright, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Wright, Bedeque; three daughters. Miss Jean, R.N.,, New York, who came home some time ago to nurse her father; Florence and Margaret at home; three sons, Wilfred, Walter and Chesley at home and one brother, Albert Craig, in Vancouver, besides a large number of friends whose sympathy goes out to the bereaved.
His funeral, on Sunday at 1.15 at the home and 2 p.m. at the Bedeque United Church, was very largely attended and was conducted by a former pastor, Rev. G. N. Somers, Margate, in the absence of Rev. Arthur Organ, pastor of the Bedeque United Church. The pallbearers were A. E. MacLean, M.P., Hon. Horace Wright, Calvin Leard, W. N. Jenkins, Thomas Moyse and James Henderson. A large procession followed the remain to Searletown where interment was made." [Island Farmer, 7 October 1936].6,6
