The funeral will take place today (Tuesday) at 12 o'clock noon, proceeding to the Methodist cemetery at Central Bedeque." Note: E. H. Wright is Elisha Hooper Wright, married to Jane's niece, Margaret Elizabeth Clark. Although the obituary stated that she was to be buried at the cemetery in Central Bedque, she was actually buried in the Bedeque Cemetery in Lower Bedeque.3,4

Mr. Gardiner was ailing for some time, but was in tolerable health and able to move about, until a very few days before his death. In the course of his eminently successful and useful career through life, he occupied some of the most prominent and honorable positions in the country. He was appointed by the Crown, a Legislative Councillor for Prince Edward Island, in 1860 - a position which he held for three years. In 1864, he was High Sheriff of this County, and President of the Summerside Bank from 1866 to 1869. Mr. Gardiner died on Thursday the 10th inst., in the 76th year of his age, and was interred at Centreville, Bedeque, on Saturday." [He is actually buried in Bedeque Cemetery, Lower Bedeque, Prince Edward Island.].6,2
