After an illness of nearly three months, borne with the gentleness and Christian patience that had characterized her life, Mrs. William Brehaut of this town passed to her rest on Thursday last. Deceased, formerly Miss Nancy Cannon, daughter of the late George and Mrs. Cannon, Lot 16, was 79 years of age and was one of the first settlers in Summerside. She was married 48 years ago and, with her husband, has resided here continuously since that time. She was an exemplary Christian, a kind neighbor and friend and a dutiful and devoted wife and mother.

She leaves to mourn besides her husband, three daughters, Mrs. H. T. McLeod, Brocton, Mass.; Mrs. Bessie Campbell, Roxbury, Mass.; and Mrs. Frances Baker, Boston, all of whom are at the old home in Summerside. One sister, Mrs. David Marks, Long River and one brother Alfred Cannon, Springhill, N.S., survive. The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock to the People’s Cemetery, Summerside."5,2
