Birth*William Estabrooks was born on 7 July 1831 in Canning (now Waterborough), Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada.1 
He was the son of John Estabrooks and Mary Coy
Note*In 1856 he bought Henry Stennick's farm in Upper Gagetown, just above the Sunbury-Queens County boundary line. He married Phoebe Jane Akerley on Jan. 28, 1864. He inherited the land in Canning which his father, John had inherited from his father Elijah the Preacher. This was the first farm below the Queens-Sunbury boundary. William left this Canning land to his son, Edward who sold it to Clarence Gordon of Upper Gagetown, N.B. William died November 15, 1904. His wife died May 29, 1927. and was ninety years of age. in 1856.

Biographical Note* He had at least 1 child, although his wife is not know. An interesting story given to Florence Clark Estabrooks by James A.Estey of St. John, was that Zebedee Ring, (who married Hannah Estabrooks) had a share in building the Croton water works in New York and his name is on a tablet there. James A. Estey had a gold pen belonging to Zebedee Ring, Hannah's husband, with Mr. Ring's name on it. James A. Estey's daughter, Ethel inherited this ring. Mr. Estey also had the Ring Family Bible. 1935.

His son, Issac married Mary Towne. They lived in Topsfield, EssexCo., Mass. near Salem, Essex Co., Mass. She was executed as a witch in1692 and the family moved to Rowley, Essex Co., Mass. Richard, grandsonof Isaac, was born in Topsfield but lived in Rowley. He came to the St.John River with the Maugerville settlers in 1763 and is ancestor of theN.B. Esteys.
