William also believed he was Oliver Cromwell however the census records --see William Oliver under the Oultorpe file show that he was still living at age 53 i n 1881 Census..so I have concluded to drop the Cromwell and go with William Oliver and set the birth at between 1829 and 1830. Oliver was married under the name William Oliver Thorpe according to James R. Wood of Virginia.2,1
