Biographical Note* They built a home in Mayfield on what later was the Goodine property. Asa young man, Benjamin sailed around the Horn (Cape Horn ?) to Californiawith his brother Samuel and spent one or two years there. He returned,married, farmed and lumbered. His life had a tragic ending by poison.He got up at night because he had indigestion to take baking soda. Butinstead, he took arsenic. [JP] Apparently was called Granville. [JP]

Biographical Note* Christie Jackson lived on his father's farm in in Mayfield. He lumbered until 1910 when his family were mostly grown up. Then they all moved to Saskatoon and took up farming on the prairies. Shortly after arriving there Christie took sick. He went to his brother Stephen in Royalton, Minn. where he passed away. His remains were brought to St. Stephen where he was buried in the Rural Cemetery beside his first wife Mary and his daughter Dollie. His son Raymond stayed on the farm in Saskatoon. Married at Bride's father's home. [JP] Cause of Death: Brain Tumor.
