Birth*Leonard Townsend was born circa 1841 in Point de Bute, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, 45.903616,-64.250448. there is some doubt as to whether Leonard is a son of Thomas and Eunice. There is a Leonard Townsend listed in the 1851 census when Eunice was a widow and head of the household. There is no entry in the relationship to head of household box for Leonard. There is also a wide difference in age between Leonard and Eunice's known children, leading one to speculate that Leonard might have been a nephew or grandson. That Leonard was recorded as being 9 years old, which coincides with his known birth year.2,3
