AGED CITIZEN OF PORT ELGIN PASSED AWAY Mr. David G. Field Died After Few Days' Illness at Advanced Age of 78
After an illness of a few days -- although he had been in poor health for some months -- there passed away at his home in Port Elgin, N. B., one of the oldest residents of the village, David G. Field.
The late Mr. Field was well known throughout the county having spent the greater part of his lifetime in Port Elgin. He was aged 78 years 5 months. Universal regret will be expressed by the residents of the county, especially the older citizens.
He leaves besides his wife, two sons, Doctor Burton R. Field, of Centreville, Carleton Co., and Ernest L. Field, of Bloomfield, Carleton Co., also one daughter, Lola M. at home. Three brothers also survive, John, of Princeton, Maine; Samuel, of St. Andrews, and Job, of Shemogue , N.B. Also one sister, Mrs. Tingley, of Massachusetts. The funeral was held from the home, Friday afternoon at 2:30 to Fernwood Cemetery.2,1 |
