Mr. Fowler was born 78 years ago in Leguac (sic), N.B., and came to Prince Edward Island as a youth, where he settled in Bedeque and followed the trade of carriage builder and woodworker in the day when carriages and sleighs were manufactured in the Island. Afterward he became organizer for the Independent Order of Foresters, in which capacity he also served as an outstanding temperance worker. An enthusiastic worker in every good cause, he was also one of the organizers, and later secretary, of the seed fairs held in Summerside some years ago. In 1912 he went to Calgary to act as agricultural lecturer for the government of Alberta, resigning his position in 1918.
He is survived by his widow, four sons: W. E. Fowler, Calgary; Major D. R. Fowler, Brockville, Ont.; H.L . Fowler of Regina, and Rev. L. H. Fowler of Renfrew, Ontario."1
