| Death | She died on 21 January 1917 in home, Tyne Valley, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, CanadaG.
Obituary: "Never perhaps was a neighborhood so deeply shocked as when on Sunday might, January 21st, 1917, the news spread of the very sad, sudden and unexpected death at the age of only seventeen years and six months of Jessie Elizabeth Hanson, youngest daughter of Mr. Wm. Hanson, Tyne Valley. Left an orphan at the tender age of one year and six months, and thus without the care and protection of a loving mother, she grew up so much the companion of her father, now bowed with grief almost too great to bear, that especially to the father now passing through the deep water of so great a trial and sorrow goes out the most heartfelt sympathy of friends and neighbors.
The funeral took place on Tuesday 23rd, and although the day was very cold and stormy, was well attended. The remains were laid to rest beside her mother in Port Hill cemetery. The service which was very impressive, were conducted by Rev. Mr. Bamford, rector of Port Hill. The pallbearers were Ernest Gillis, Wilfrid McDougald, Ernest Grigg and Elison Williams. To the sorrowing father, brother and sister-in-law at home, and the four sisters and two brothers absent, the most sincere sympathy of the community is extended."1,2
