Biographical NoteAbiel was an innholder of Cambridge between 174- and 1757. He moved to Cumberland, Nova Scotia sometime afterwards.3
DeathAbiel Richardson died on 14 November 1765 in CanadaG. Abiel drowned with his son in a boating accident. Obituary published in the Boston Evening Post, 24 March, 1766: "We hear from Cumberland in Nova-Scotia, That Mr. Abiel Richardson (formerly of Cambridge) his Son Abiel, and tow other Men, were lost, in going to a Place where they cur'd Fish called Three Rivers in St. John's on the 14th November last, the Boat being found next Morning drove up to the Stages." It would appear that they capsized in what is now the Northumberland Strait, between Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.3
