Note*Theodore M. 'Ted' Barnett was born in Seattle, WA, August 23, 1902 He was the second husband of Eva Mae Damon Mehner (see her 'Notes') They were married in Seattle in about 1940-1943. Ted helped drive the car for his wife in her Real Estate Business in Seattle. He encouraged her to move to St. Augustine, Florida and purchase the Camachee Island in 1947-1948. The Last Will and Testament of Eva D. Mehner Barnett dated Dec 18, 1951named Ted to be the beneficiary of her entire estate. Interestingly, if Ted would have died first, the estate would have been divided 9 ways:Karl T. Mehner, Warren P. Mehner, Albert Hartson Mehner, Robert D.Mehner, The American Bible Society and (4 unknown people--JJR): Beulah Fisk, Will Barnett, Paul Barnett, and Naomi Ruth Cain, We wonder if all or some of these four were Ted's siblings or perhaps even children! His wife Eva died in 1964 He was also a hotel night watchman and a Baptist! He was befriended by another woman realtor named Ann Hopkins who cared for him in his later years. (see quotations in notes of Eva Mae Damon Mehner Barnett) He finally lived at the Gilmer? Nursing Home in St Augustine, FL where he died June 20, 1979. He is buried at the Evergreen Cemetery in St.Augustine.

Note*Aurelius A. Barney was born in Jamestown, New York in 1833, the son of Winship Barney and Mary ?. He married Sarah Ann Parker in Decatur, VanBuren County, Michigan on 12 April 1856. Baptist minister performed the ceremony. In the fall of 1865, Aurelius moved to Sac County, Iowa with his wife and 4 year old daughter Mae Viola and engaged in farming. In1872 he moved to Sac City, Iowa and engaged in teaming. He lost his left arm about 1879 or so from infection caused by bad blood contracted in theCivil War duty (1864 to 1865). He enlisted from Van Buren County, Michigan, on the 5th day of March, 1864 to serve 4 years or the duration of the War, and was mustered into the U.S. service at Kalamazoo, Michigan on the 28th day of March 1864, as a Private of Capt. John H. Andrew’s Company ‘D’, 66th Regiment, Illinois Volunteer Infantry, Colonel Patrick Burke, commanding. Aurelius was honorably discharged at the close of the war 17 July 1865. See Aurelius' mustering out in his scrapbook. He moved to Portland, Oregon by covered wagon in 1887, and to Seattle, Washington in the summer of 1888. He joined the Stevens Post, Grand Army of the Republic, #10, June 1890. They returned to Iowa in 1888 and sold his farm. At the time of Aurelius A. Barney’s death in Seattle 27 July, 1907, he was 74 years of age, they were living at 1608 1st Ave. N, Seattle, King County, Washington. Sarah owned a piece of property in Seattle, described as 'Lot 4, Block 12, Bigelow’s Supplementary Addition', which she rented the above property for $15.00 per month. Sarah died 22 September,1928 and is buried with her husband in the Snyder Lot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill, 700 W. Raye Street. They had 2 daughters, May Viola, who was second born, and born 8 September, 1861 in Decatur, Van Buren County, Michigan, and died 24March, 1941 in Seattle, Washington and Etta Belle, born 11 April, 1857 in Decatur, Van Buren County, Michigan and died November 1857, Decatur, Van Buren County, Michigan. Lineal Descent Aurelius Barney, was the first son of Winship Barney and Mary Barney. He was born in Jamestown, Niagara County, New York, U.S.A., on May 13,1833. He was united in marriage on April 1856 at Decatur, Van Buren County,Michigan, U.S.A. to Sarah A. Parker who was born Dec. 1, 1839 in ChenangoCo., N.Y. State and was the second daughter of Silas Parker and Olive M.Lake.

Aurelius Barney moved to Sac County, Iowa with hiswife and four year old daughter May Viola, and engaged in farming. In1872 he moved to Sac City, and engaged in teaming. He lost his left arm about 1879 or so from infection caused by bad blood contracted in the Civil War duty (1864 to 1865). He enlisted from Van Burien County, Michigan, on the 5th day of March 1864 to serve 3 years or during the war, and was mustered into the U.S. service at Kalamazoo, Michigan on the28th day of March 1864, as a Private of Capt. John Andrew's Company 'D',66th Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, Colonel Patrick K. Burke commanding. He moved to Portland, Oregon in 1887, and to Seattle, Wash.in the summer of 1887. He joined Stevens Post, G.A.R. June 10, 1890. Returned to Iowa in 1888 and sold his farm. He died in July 27, 1907 being 74 years of age and id buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Seattle, Wash. Sarah A. Parker was the second daughter of Silas and Olive Lake Parker.She was born on the 1st day of Dec. 1839 in Chenango Co., New York State.Her father's father was Hyman Parker and Hyman's wife's name was EmilyAllen, her maiden name. Col. Ethan Allen of New York's great-granddaughter was the great grandmother of Sarah Barney and her married sister Jenny Adams, also of Nancy Crandall and Hyman and Henry Parker. After moving to Seattle, Wash. with her husband Sarah Barney joined Steven Corps. About 1891 and was President of it in 1893. She lost her left eye through an operation in 1908. After her husband's death in1907 she lived with her daughter, May for 3 years. She then went to the Home at Retsil, Wash. where she lived for three years after which she returned and was with her daughter until she died Sept. 22, 1928 being 88years old. Burial was at Mt.
