NoteSarah Hammond, daughter of Philip Hammond, was born 21 Oct 1739. Sarah was baptized there 21 October 1739. On 24 September 1764, she married James Oakes. They moved from Marblehead to Cornwallis and quite possibly encountered Elijah and Mary Estabrooks there. Sarah had four children by James Oakes: James (junior), Benjamin, Sarah and Christopher (Christopher was born in 1773). James (senior) died about the same time as Mary Hackett. Sarah Oakes brought her small family to Gagetown and married Elijah Estabrooks on 17 December 1778. They had a further two children, Elizabeth (Betsy) born 30 October 1779, and Hammond, born 29 January 1783.
