He went back to Sicily a couple times and in 1910 he had a daughter born in Sicily, the first child of 9 to live. In 1912 he sent for his wife and daughter and they came to this country. His daughter's name was Gaetana Francesca Amoroso which was changed legally to Ida Frances Amoroso in 1943 when she was naturalized as an American citizen. He came to this country the last time on April 21, 1910 on the S.S. Sannio from Palermo, Sicily to Boston, Massachusetts. The Cape Cod Summers Family had Francesco's name inscribed on the 'Wall of Immigrants' at Ellis Island. His name is on panel #14. |
