Obituary: "The death occurred at Victoria B.C. on January 14th, of Lemuel MacGregor, youngest son of the late William MacGregor, of Summerside in the thirty-third year of his age. Deceased has been in falling health for a considerable time and was advised to leave his home in Winnipeg, Man., to go to British Columbia. His sickness was borne with Christian patience and resignation to the Divine Will. Although he was attended by the best medical skill and was under the care of loving friends, he passed peacefully away at the home of his brother William J. MacGregor. Mr. MacGregor was well known in this town as he resided here for years.
He leaves to mourn his widow and three small children as well as the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Slissman, California, Mrs. John Morison, Rossland, B.C., W.J. MacGregor, Victoria. B.C., Mrs. C. L. Jones, Moncton, N.B., Mrs. Jesse C. Wilson, Eastondale, Mass., Mrs. E. E. Perry, Attleboro, Mass., Mrs. W. B. Pye, Eastondale, Mass., Mrs. Ewen Clark, Wilmot, P.E. Island, Whitemore MacGregor, of Colorado. The services at the house and grave were conducted by the Rev. Leslie Clay."3,1

Obituary: "Islander Drowned in British Columbia
A. Balfour Read Misses His Footing While Crossing a Railway Bridge and Falls to the River Below
Many friends will regret to learn of the sad drowning of A. Balfour Read, son of David P. Read, Read’s Corner, which occurred near Castlegar, on the Columbia River. On Sept. 12, while crossing the high railway bridge at night he missed his footing and fell to the river below. The body was not recovered until October 5th. He was buried at Nelson, B.C. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Dr. J. T. Ferguson. He leaves to mourn his father and mother, three brothers, Joseph E., Erie, B.C.; George at home; and Nelson B., Summerside; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Hawke, Malden, Mass.; Mrs. Melville Bradshaw, Summerside; Mrs. William McKay, New Annan; Cecilia, Summerside; and Cassie at home. The deceased was 31 years of age and was employed in a lumber mill at Castlegar. He left Summerside about seven years ago and was home on a visit two years ago."5
