OBITUARY DOROTHY (DOT) MAY CLARK March 6, 1911 - June 2, 2002 Dorothy Clark passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 27 days. Dot was born in Summerside on March 6, 1911 to Edward and Ella Mae Monkley. Dot attended Elementary and High School in Summerside, as well as taking art instruction at the Saint Mary Convent there as well. Dot attended Mount Allison University and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. In 1932, Dot married John Lawson Clark at the Summerside Baptist Church in Summerside. Dot and Jack raised 3 sons; David, who lives in Scotchfort, Edward, who lost his life in a hunting accident at 15 years of age, and Allan who died in infancy. Dot and Jack resided in Summerside, Charlottetown, Kitchener, St. John's, Toronto, returning to Charlottetown upon retirement. Dot was predeceased by her husband Jack, her parents, sister, Marion, brothers; Wendell, Edward (Horace), Charles, Lorne and Allan. Dot is survived by nine grandchildren; Edward, Cynthia, Mary, David, Rachael, William, Caille, Ewen and Sarah-Ellen Dorothy. As well as great grandchildren; Christine, Christopher, John, Elizabeth, Michael, Kyle, Alexis, Shaun, Brendan, Danielle, Samantha, John, David, Zachary and Brittany. Dot, a family oriented, lady was endeared by all family members as well as friends and neighbours. She had a special interest in her church, Saint Paul's Anglican of Charlottetown, and her spiritual concerns and needs were amply addressed by the Reverend Cannon, Ted Morgan and Reverend Lorraine Quinn, Priest. Dot celebrated Holy Communion with her family a few hours before her passing with her priest, Lorraine Quinn, officiating. Dorothy was independent of mind and spirit and wished to remain at home until her passing, which she did. Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude is extended to her care givers; Phyllis Feehan and Lottie Bambrick for their devotion and love in seeing her wish come to. We, the family of Dorothy would like to thank the clergy, scripture readers, pallbearers, family and friends, who called and attended her wake and funeral. The medical support received by Dorothy at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital was of great comfort and eased her passing. A special thank you to all who expressed their condolences through flowers of remembrance, memorial funds, and to the staff of the MacLean Funeral Home, who comforted the burden of the loss of a loved one. The Lord gave thee, He took thee and shall restore thee. Lovingly remembered by family and friends.
