Here are my comments on the revised genealogy from William A. DeLung: He may not have married in Bates County, Missouri. 'The History of Cassand Bates Counties, Missouri' says, 'After the war he followed farmingfor some time, and then was a peddler until 1877, when he went to Texas. While there he sold goods for two years, and subsequently came to BatesCounty, Missouri, and embarked in business in Rockville' (1883, p.1344). When he married on August 5, 1866, he was probably not living in Bates County, Missouri. Note	Notes for RICHARD ARFAXAD DELUNG: Information on Richard's family came from Bea Hobbs. According to her notes the information came from Bertha Isosake. 1313 N. Minnesota Ave.,Box 4, Brownsville, TX 78521 Richard Arfaxad DeLung enlisted in the Confederate Army in March of 1862. He was assigned to C.C.Inft. 23rd Battalion, commanded by Col. Derrick of Echel's Brigade and J.C. Brackenridge's Division. He was captured September 19, 1864, at Bunker Hill near Winchester, Virginia, and was held as a prisoner of war until March 15, 1865, when he was exchanged. On account of his health he was furloughed March 26, 1865, and did not return to the army. After the Civil War he moved to McDowell County, West Virginia. There were born to him 4 sons and 4 daughters: Alice, Kitty, Mary, May,William, George, Samuel and Boyd.
