In 1856 he bought Henry Stennick's farm in Upper Gagetown, just above theSunbury-Queens County boundary line. He married Phoebe Jane Akerley onJan. 28, 1864. In the 1871 Census they give her age as 29. He inheritedthe land in Canning which his father, John had inherited from his fatherElijah the Preacher. This was the first farm below the Queens-Sunburyboundary. William left this Canning land to his son, Edward who sold it to ClarenceGordon of Upper Gagetown, N.B. William died November 15, 1904. His wifedied May 29, 1927. and was ninety years of age.
