- George required glasses when he was a little boy. He had about seven years of piano lessons, going to Dauphin, Manitoba on a weekly basis to get instructions. Ross relates that when George was young he found a pail of lard in the pantry in Ethelbert. The living room had been freshly painted and through the alughter from Morris they proceeded to plaster the walls, much tothe dismay of their mother when she found out what they were doing. I guess these two got into earlier trouble at Mabella. Since Mabella was in the sticks a large larder had to be maintained. The two boys got into the pantry one time and proceeded to tear off all the labels on the cans. Suppers were always a surprise for a long time. George left at a young man to work in telegraphy, living in the Yukon during the War II. After the war he and his bride, Kay lived in Winnipeg. He moved to Toronto with his family where he continued to work in telegraphy for the CNR. He also worked in radio servicing. He moved to Cobourg, Ontario, where Kay still lives (1999). After he retired he worked on a contract basis in Zimbabwe setting up a communications network. He had just returned for a second contract extension when he contacted Heptitus C (from drinking polluted water)and died.
