- According to the Muster and descriptive rolls for Illinois company B,Chris reported his age as 18 and was described as 5' 7' tall with brown hair, dark eyes and light complexion. His occupation was listed as a farmer from Lamoille IL. He joined up on Sept. 17, 1861 for a 3 year stretch. He was mustered into service on Oct 25, 1861 at Geneva IL. Christopher was in the Illinois army with his brother Thomas. They went through the battle of Shiloh. Chris was going to look after his father Thomas, because Thomas was crippled. However, Chris died of consumption soon after being discharged.
