In 1875 she is indicated as 'of Santa Barbara,California' -- as was her sister Josephine Dyer. A photo in My Garden iscaptioned 'Mrs. Bradbury, Mother of the Author'. Smith were married 1 Oct1852 --- --- the said Robert N. wholly regardless of his marriage vows --- atBangor in the County of Penobscot --- in the month of January 1858 didlive in adultery with a certain lived woman, and common prostitute called 'Fanny Jones' for about 1 week, frequenting and dwelling for thatlength of time in a house of ill fame at said Bangor. Kept by said FannyJones, and a certain other lived woman and common prostitute called 'Kate Harding' – more ---- then --- travelled about the countryalone with her for several days, living in adultry --- from 20th June toabout the 10th of July 1858 --- your Libellant further represents, thatsaid Robert N. was drunken in his habits, and at time abusive andquarrelsome. -they have one daughter aged 3 years --- Divorce granted with custody of chils, Katie D.
